Who doesn’t love refund season? The IRS is finally paying you back for the extra taxes they took, and you’ve probably already made plans for when the money gets here.

It might be a new car, it might be new clothes – and more than likely, some of it has to do with debt.

All of these are great ways to use your refund, but I was wondering if you’d like to make it go farther? Something that will benefit you for years down the road, not just a few weeks.

If so, read below – I’ll show you how.

Planning For Your Refund…

Chances are, you probably have your refund proceeds all mapped out…

30% credit card, 25% for kids, 15% on a new tv….etc, we all do it.

And rightfully so. Life’s short, I’m all about rewarding ourselves – and that’s why I wanted to tell you about this.

Don’t get me wrong, any amount of money is great, but when I know I can make it bigger – I’m all ears.

I’m sure you’ve even heard something along these lines, just in a form that didn’t excite you.

“Put your refund into an IRA” “Put it as a down payment on a house”…blah, blah, blah – sounds great, but it doesn’t excite us.

Not quite like a new business does anyway. Actually, now that I say it – have you ever thought why this might be?

It’s a funny concept to think about, but once you hear it…..it makes sense.

You’re human, you have to keep growing. If you don’t, well – I don’t even like to consider that an option.

But anyway, back to my point – here’s how you can use your refund to keeping growing

Focus on Progress, Not Perfection

The biggest hurdle for any entrepreneur to overcome is Performance Anxiety. Think about it as “writer’s block”, where you sit down and can’t think about what you want to write…

Or in other words, you’re psyching yourself out so much – that you can’t even do something that you’re naturally able to do.

Crazy to think about, huh?

That’s why it’s important to start small, and grow as you go.

So how does a tax refund help with this?

Use it as your opening equity. Even if it’s just $1,000 – that’s more than enough in many industries.

And if you’re not sure what type of side business you’d want to start – send me an email and ask about our Partner program – it might be what you’re looking for.

And If It’s Not, Here’s Some Other Ideas

I like our Partner program for many reasons, but I really like how it helps our new agents. Not only do they receive training on new products – but they develop a skill set that they’ve never had before….

And one that usually transfers to any part of life.

BUT, with that said – it’s not for everybody. So here’s a few other ideas to help you:

  • Handyman Services
  • Photographer
  • Construction (yes, you can still start small)
  • Real Estate Investor
  • Life Coach
  • Artist
  • Convenient Store Owner
  • Car Dealership
  • And much, much, more

This list isn’t meant to be exhaustive, but I hope you get the hint….

There’s a lot of opportunities out there. And with a little bit of equity, combined with professional help – they’re really not that far away.

The Best Time Was Yesterday, The Second Best Time Is Right Now

I hope these ideas got the gears spinning. Even if you start out as a side business, the joy of growth will provide more benefits that you can imagine.

And I know, the hardest part is starting – that’s what I’m here for. So if money is the one thing keeping you from your dreams, then please – let me know.

Even if it’s something you don’t want to do until next tax season, the extra planning never hurts.
